Gulfstream Market Overview 3Q 2015

While activity in pre-owned large cabin aircraft sales took a big hit in the first quarter, lower price expectations in Q2 and Q3 have made a big impact. The number of pre-owned sales in newer markets jumped drastically in Q2 and dropped back down a little in Q3, with the exception of the G150, which doubled sales from Q2 to Q3.

The rise in demand for mid-size jets, which has been long overdue, resulted in a number of G150 and G200 sales this quarter. JetNet iQ numbers also show mid- and super mid-size aircraft being the largest target of those intending to buy aircraft in the next twelve months, and Gulfstream sales support this data. The G280 market is still really tight, with great feedback from owners and only 6% of the preowned fleet (six planes) for sale. So far, however, no G280s have changed hands in a pre-owned scenario.

From a corporate perspective, we are hearing rumors that Gulfstream is dealing on new G450 and G550 orders for the first time ever in an answer to Bombardier’s steep discounts. Supposedly, Bombardier is continuing with its 7000 program, but in the meantime, Gulfstream and Dassault can continue moves to dominate the ultra-long-range space.

If you operate a Gulfstream, we would love to get you on the line and get your input on your aircraft’s performance and how your current fleet is fulfilling your mission. Nothing is more valuable than real-life data, and we can always learn more about performance and operations of each aircraft. Shoot us an email at sales@wepushtin.com to let us know.
