What Exactly is Bombardier’s Batch 3 Upgrade?

BATCH 3 is an integrated avionics computer software upgrade, launched between Bombardier and Honeywell in 2006. The BATCH 3 program allowed Bombardier to offer value-added features, which were intended to sell as a service bulletin in the aftermarket, and as a cut-in to new production aircraft. BATCH 3 includes changes to the FMS (Flight Management System), AFCS (Automatic Flight Control System), and EDS (Embedded Diagnostic System) subsystems of the Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) on board the Global platform.
